Ercol model 437 compact and stylish mid-century writing desk made of solid elm set on tapered beechwood legs.
Designed by Lucian Ercolani and made by Ercol in High Wycombe in the 1950s.
this is manufactured to the highest standards using traditional methods with the exposed intricate dovetail joints. These are a an Ercol trademark and they run on the side panels and compliment the distinctively grained elm.
These charming petite desks with their gentle organic lines are highly desirable and sought-after and rarely available.
Condition and restoration:-
This lovely desk is in immaculate condition. The legs on this desk are in very good order and show a very small amount of wear. The top is also very very clean and with some wonderful swirly elm grains the top that you don’t see too often. The original finish has held up extremely well. Very clean example and the overall condition is a 9 out of 10 and has been completely refinished with light wax polish to give the desk unit deep shine and protection. please see photos for any obvious knocks or dents.
